Position: We are seeking a passionate and motivated Experienced Underground Transmission Engineer.

At XYZER, a dynamic and growing company, we deliver end-to-end engineering solutions for high-stakes subsea and underground power transmission serving data centers, battery storage systems, utilities, and renewable energy grid interconnections.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing a small team of engineers and designers to execute underground transmission projects.
  • Assisting in business development efforts and contributing to thought leadership initiatives such as conference attendance, marketing, and internal projects.
  • Developing specifications and technical document packages for underground projects, manhole and equipment installation, riser structure, conduit and duct bank design, and cable replacement design.
  • Leading construction feasibility discussions through routing analysis, conflict analysis, and construction cost estimation.
  • Performing field inspections, measurements, or calculations for underground electric facilities.
  • Preparing cable pulling calculations, ampacity calculations, cable selection studies, grounding and bonding schemes.
  • Generating proposals, engineering/project cost estimates, and execution schedules.
  • Regularly meeting and corresponding with clients, subcontractors, and external personnel.
  • Assisting Project Management in monitoring progress and reporting throughout project execution.
  • Formulating scopes of work for topographic mapping, surveying, and subsurface utility locating. Reviewing and integrating survey data into designs.
  • Incorporating various cable installation methods such as direct burial, concrete duct bank, bridge attachment, and trenchless techniques.
  • Utilizing different types of cables as required for projects, including XLPE and HPFF cable systems.

Education, Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil or electrical engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Minimum 5 years of underground distribution and/or transmission civil engineering/design experience
  • Strong knowledge of overhead and underground construction methods and electrical system equipment
  • Experience conducting underground field inspections
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D a plus
  • Familiarity with topographic mapping & surveying, and subsurface utility engineering/utility locating procedures and practices
  • Knowledge regarding easements, right-of-way, and permitting
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and to prioritize work
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Travel to client and project locations expected

At XYZER, we deliver end-to-end engineering solutions for high-stakes underground and subsea power transmission projects. We serve data centers, battery energy storage systems (BESS), utilities, and major renewable energy initiatives. To support our growth, we are seeking a skilled Senior Drafter/Designer to tackle the technical complexities of these critical projects.

Position Overview:

Working closely with our Underground Lead Engineer, you will handle complex drafting and design work, independently preparing drawing packages for final engineering review.

In this role, you will play a major part in critical, utility-scale power infrastructure projects. You will work alongside industry experts as a core team member, gaining direct exposure to the highly specialized world of underground and subsea power transmission, with opportunities for local site visits to see our engineering designs come to life.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Drafting: Develop plan and profile sheets, georeferenced alignments, layout drawings, and detailed civil/structural drawings.

CAD Civil 3D: Develop advanced drawings in 3D isometric models.

Quality & Compliance: Ensure all drawings comply with client specifications, and internal CAD guidelines through rigorous self-checks and QA/QC reviews.

Teamwork: Partner closely with engineers and designers to resolve design conflicts and meet critical milestones.

Data Management: Maintain highly organized drawing files, layering standards, and robust document control practices.

Mentorship: Mentor and guide one other drafter, providing technical drafting support and maintaining design consistency across teams.

Field Support: Conduct occasional field checks and site walk-downs to ensure drawings accurately reflect real-world site conditions.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Education: Associate’s degree or technical certification in Drafting, Design Technology, or Engineering Technology.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience for the Senior Level, or 3 years for the Intermediate Level, supporting power transmission or utility projects..
  • Technical Skills:
    • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D (Required).
    • Proven experience creating georeferenced alignments, profiles, and details in the utilities industry, pipeline networks, or land surveying.
    • Experience with isometric drawings and 3D rendering is a significant plus.
    • Familiarity with utility design requirements and industry standards.
    • Strong mathematical aptitude for precise, scaled engineering deliverables.
  • Professional Attributes: Excellent organizational, communication, proactive, and detail-oriented skills, and ability to work independently.

Position Overview

We are seeking a versatile, self-motivated Operations Administrator to manage daily office operations and provide key support to company leadership. This role is perfect for a resourceful, detail-oriented, and solution-driven individual who enjoys wearing multiple hats and taking a significant operational load off management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Office Operations: Maintain a clean, professional, and fully stocked office environment (including managing office supplies, snacks, and premium amenities). Handle desk configurations and assist in preparing meeting setups.
  • Vendor & Logistics Management: Manage deliveries, and general vendor relationships such as landlords, utilities, and office services.
  • Document Control & Organization: Maintain and enforce the company’s document control system within SharePoint with high attention to detail. Ensure all project files are structured correctly and proactively catch misaligned file-naming conventions.
  • Executive Support: Reduce the day-to-day operational load on management and (such as following up with the accountant and insurance providers, reviewing timesheets) and planning and executing internal team events and client hospitality.

 

Job Requirements & Qualifications

  • Education: College degree required.
  • Experience: 2–5 years of experience in office administration, project coordination, or operational support. Experience in an engineering, or technical environment is a major plus.
  • Technical Savvy: High proficiency with the Microsoft 365 suite, with strong, practical experience navigating and structuring SharePoint (managing permissions, folder hierarchies, and file sharing).
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Mindset: A motivated, reliable, punctual, and fully committed to a dedicated, in-office team culture.
